Wiltens predicts bright future for Sinnema despite Dutch pair exiting London after the pool stage

London, Great Britain, August 11, 2011 – Margo Wiltens and Jolien Sinnema may have been knocked out of the Visa FIVB Beach Volleyball International, but Wiltens thinks Sinnema is a name to watch in the future.

Sinnema is playing in her first senior event after the 21 year old played in both the FIVB Swatch Youth World Championships and the FIVB Swatch Junior World Championships in 2010.

“(It is good) for Jolien because she is a youngster, has the talent and is new this year,” Wiltens said. “I’ve played a bit on the World Tour. Just being here is something special and something we’ll never forget.”

The Dutch duo started with a loss to China’s number two seeds Zhang Xi and Chen Xue before pushing Vanuatu’s Miller Elwin and Linline Matauatu hard in their second match. In their third game Greece’s Christina Roubanis and Joanna Papageorgiou won in straight sets to signal the end of Wiltens and Sinnema’s involvement at Horse Guard’s Parade.

“We were off and on there,” Wiltens said. “We played good and then we lost some points and that was the same in almost every game.

“We really wanted to play and go for every ball. Our serve was one of the best in the tournament, so that was good to know. The performance was just about enjoyment and doing the best we could.”
